who we are
Supporting People with Special Needs Committee
Kevin Brennan, 2016-2018
Kevin grew up in rural Pennsylvania but has lived in and loved Washington, DC for the past decade. He now resides in south Morocco outside beautiful Taroudant. In a former life, he worked as a survey analyst with the federal government. During that time, he enjoyed his work as a volunteer with the DC Special Olympics unified sports program and inpatient volunteerism at the nearby children's hospital. He is hoping to extend his passion of volunteerism to his service in the Peace Corps. In joining SPSN, Kevin wants to further develop relationships with Special Olympics Morocco, l'Entraide Nationale, and further enable the Moroccan special needs community as a whole.
Jeomar Montelon, 2016-2018
Jeomar is a volunteer in the Meknès-Fez region. Originally from New York City, he has lived, worked, and studied in the United States, Spain, France, Uganda, and India. Over the years, Jeomar has fused his interests in intercultural relations, communications, travel, and underrepresented populations into a career in study abroad. He plies his talents in service of international education, specifically supporting underserved students who seek the opportunity to study overseas. Jeomar has worked with special needs students on identifying study abroad programs that match their accommodations, while giving them the tools and resources they need to make overseas travel a reality. His late father who fell ill to Multiple Sclerosis inspires Jeomar’s life story.
