Welcome! The Supporting People with Special Needs Committee (SPSN) is a group of Peace Corps Morocco Volunteers (PCVs) who seek to improve our organization's work with and for the special needs community of Morocco.

Our goals include:

  • To establish relationships and serve as a liaison between PCVs, Peace Corps Washington, Moroccan organizations, and international organizations working in the field of disability services.
  • To integrate people with special needs into Peace Corps work in Morocco within the sector of Youth Development.
  • To spread awareness and promote community health education with a focus on people with disabilities in Morocco.
  • To help volunteers promote and educate the population about special needs issues by providing trainings, resources, and support to PCVs, Moroccan organizations, and other relevant parties.

We are currently led by Max Blaisdell, PCV Morocco 2018-2020.

…the Peace Corps shall be administered so as to give particular attention to programs, projects, and activities which tend to integrate disabled people into the national economies of developing countries, thus improving their status and assisting the total development effort.
– Peace Corps Act, 1961
