Special Olympics Get Into It! Curriculum Grades K-12

Lesson plans for all students on special needs from the Special Olympics

Many volunteers will be working with the Special Olympics in Ifrane next week; in honor of them, here is the SO Get Into It! curriculum (available on their website as well)

Curriculum for 9-12 graders
Lesson One: So.. What's the Challenge: Recognize and Address Intolerance
Lesson Two: What does my community look like? Assess attitudes and strategies for acceptance
Lesson Three: Making a difference: Identify, Appreciate, and Recognize SO athletes
Lesson Four: How can I create change: Envision a better world, then make it happen


Curriculum for 6-8 graders
Lesson One: So.. What's the Challenge: Recognize and Address Intolerance
Lesson Two: What does my community look like? Assess attitudes and strategies for acceptance
Lesson Three: Making a difference: Identify, Appreciate, and Recognize SO athletes
Lesson Four: How can I create change: Envision a better world, then make it happen

Curriculum for 3-5 graders
Lesson One: A World of Difference: Diversity
Lesson Two: What is a Winner: Understand and Demonstrate Courage
Lesson Three: Inclusion Rules: Respect and Welcome Everyone
Lesson Four: Taking Action: Celebrate Diversity, Acceptance, and Inclusion

Curriculum for K-2 graders
Lesson One: We're All Alike - All Different: Understanding Diversity
Lesson Two: Meaning of Perseverance: Learn to be your best
Lesson Three: Go for the Gold: Caring and Recognition
Lesson Four: Be a Fan: Celebrate Diversity
